A man in New Jersey has told how he tricked the Devil in a contractual arrangement, whereby the Dark Lord agreed to grant the man's wish to bed a woman he desired, in return for his sole - not his soul.
Barry Grime from Trenton had had designs on his childhood friend, Sally, ever since they were at school together, but, even though he endlessly wooed her, and never let a Valentine's Day go by without showering her with cards, gifts and flowers, she found the idea of the two of them together abhorrent.
In short, she considered him repulsive - in a 'friendly' kind of way.
Grime spent endless days, weeks, months and years dreaming about Sally, and the things he'd do to her if it were legal.
Then, one day, the Devil arrived at his home, and made him an offer that was too good to refuse: Sally for his sole.
Clearly, the Lord of the Underworld hadn't employed a proofreader, but Grime said nothing. He signed on the dotted line; Sally was his!
A jubilant Barry said:
"I got my dream girl, and at a bargain price! A slave girl in exchange for the bottom of my foot - once I'm finished with it! Mind you, there'll be Hell to pay when I eventually get there, because, after all I've been up to, that's where I'm going!"
