Following George Foreman's successful second career with the "Lean Mean Grilling Machine", Muhammed Ali is entering the kitchen appliance market. Ali's "Supercool Cocktail Shaker" is to be launched tomorrow for £24.99 (8 euro) in a range of colours.
TV advertising will also commence tomorrow, and appliance insiders are predicting it will outsell Foreman's machine. Ali, 68, and Foreman, 69, last battled in the notorious "Rumble in the Jungle" in Zaire, 1974.
Not to be outdone, British boxers have quickly jumped on the band-wagon. Joe Bugner is marketing a deep-fat fryer, Lloyd Honeyghan has a range of bread and icecream-making machines coming out in the Spring, and Lennox Lewis is in negotiations to have his own range of saucepans made.
Don King (bagel and waffle toasters) was unavailable for comment yesterday.
