The tradition of releasing pigeons at the opening of the Olympic games has changed. The reforms continue in an unexpected way.
It seems likely that organizers of the 2024 Paris Olympics will release powered drones instead of birds.
"Nobody wants a repeat of the 1988 disaster. Therefore, live birds are not used in the ceremony", says Annabelle Descotec-Dessert, a French sports journalist who is also a bird watcher.
"However, birds, primarily seagulls, are used in the training program for drones and their operators", she continues.
According to her, two trainers are also quantum physicists, so cooperation with a flying animal and a flying device will lead to excellent results.
An unprecedented performance will take place in the sky of Paris in the summer of 2024, when hundreds of drones will be sent into the air from the stadium. The head trainer, Seagull Céline will sit in the main lounge, on the shoulder of the French Prime Minister.
