Word on the streets of the Bronx is that Salvatore Goombalini, head of the biggest crime family in the nation, has expressed a desire to purchase the New York Yankees baseball team.
According to Sportsapalooza's Pia Confetti Sal has enjoyed watching the 'Pinstripers" play ever since his daddy Pirandello Goombalini used to take him and his 9 brothers to Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
Sal said that his dad knew all of the players, the manager, and most of the hot, sexy, female hot dog vendors.
During one game against the Boston Red Sox, Pirandello managed to get the autographs of Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra, and Cletis Boyer.
Salvatore called up the Yankees public relations director Giles Fishowitz and he was told that the team is worth $5.7 billion, but that the Yanks are NOT for sale.
SIDENOTE: Goombalini told him that he'll be calling him back with an offer that he can't refuse. ■
