An unexpected virus destroys eighty percent of the human race. Scientist quickly move to save humankind, by creating cyborg's that carry the human DNA of twenty percent of the human race. The cyborgs become the insurance policy for mankind.
There are only one hundred cyborg's created and they have the ability to breed and give birth to human beings. The cyborg's are programed not to procreate until the virus is completely gone.
A man is walking through an empty landscape and he sees a desolate city at a distance. Then, he strolls into the city where virus infected people are placed in cages, baking in the sun and left to die.
His name is Logan One and happens to be a man pursued by scavenger hunter's for something valuable he's carrying. He's attacked by them and he manages to kill two of them, but the third blows off his right hand. The scavenger hunter is ready to remove a high energy mechanical heart from Logan's body when a girl named Evelyn shoots the scavenger hunter in the back, saving Logan.
The girl follows him home and he shows her how fast he can fix his right hand. He has a replacement hand in a locker that he attaches to himself.
When it’s too late for her to go back, Logan offers her a spot in his daytime tent so she won’t get sick from the virus. The girl knows he's a cyborg and asks where he came from. He replies that he was part of a unit of ninety-nine cyborg's that were hunted down and stripped of parts by marauding scavenger hunter's.
She follows him to a cave he has kept on top of a mountain for decades. The cave was converted into a mansion. He then tells her to make herself comfortable.
But it turns out that the girl works for the Serpent Central Intelligence Agency (SCI). She explains there are only twenty-three human's left on earth and two work for her agency. The two men at her agency are dying from the virus. She was instructed to find him because he's one of two cyborg's left that can bring humanity back from extinction. Evelyn, tells Logan they must find the other cyborg before the scavenger hunter's get to her.
She wakes up later and Logan is gone, but she sees an alarm going off in the bedroom and realizes that a ship has landed near their hideaway on the security monitor.
In the ship, a boss named Jake and twenty scavenger hunter's come walking out. Logan eliminates a scavenger hunter named Chuck as they run up to the mountain top, to get at Logan. Later, Logan fights with a guy named Kilroy. He is about to put him down when Kilroy's friend comes inside the room with a gun. Logan puts himself behind Kilroy to avoid his friend's weapon. Kilroy pleads with his friend not to shoot, but he chooses to shoot right through him to kill Logan.
Logan manages to escape. He then takes out all the scavenger hunter's except for the boss Jake. Logan, suddenly, gets shot by Jake a couple of times, and a shot blows a hole in Logan's leg. Jake then blames Logan for killing the last twenty human's left on earth. Later, Evelyn comes by and blows Jake's head off, from a distance. Unfortunately, Jake managed to get a shot off before he got hit by Evelyn. Half of Evelyn's face is blown away as Jake falls to the ground.
The left side of Evelyn's damaged face shows that she's the missing female cyborg. Later, she tells Logan how she wasn't aware that she was a cyborg, and how her agency made her believe she was a human who once had a mother and father.
