Tyree, Mississippi - Jesse Duke came roaring into town today, not in a Dodge Challenger or an old beat-up red pickup, but in an unassuming Ford Taurus.
Actor Denver Pyle, who played the lovable moonshining uncle to Bo and Luke Duke on the widly popular with adolescent boys "Dukes of Hazzard" show in the late seventies, has begun a nationwide book tour.
He recently released an autobiography of his time on the successful TV show entitled Jesus Daisy Dukes Was HOT!. Pyle is conducting a book tour and autograph signing circuit, which kicked off at the Alma M. Freedlaw gift shop and amphitheater in Tyree.
Other stops on the tour are to include the Savannah, Georgia, 1st street Baptist Church and a Stuckey's outside Mobile, Alabama, on highway 65.
